Jeremy Clarkson has been slammed for saying he dreams of Meghan Markle being “paraded through the streets naked”.

The 62-year-old Grand Tour presenter said he despises the Duchess of Sussex “on a cellular level” and “feels sorry” for Prince Harry, who is “controlled” by his wife.

In an apparent reference to the iconic Walk of Shame scene in Game of Thrones, the ex-Top Gear host added that he’d like to see “people throw excrement at them”.

The couple have detailed their experiences that led to their decision to step down from royal duties and make a fresh start in the US in the six-part series Harry & Meghan.

The first three parts, released last week, focused on the UK media’s coverage of the couple and the way they have been affected by racism.

In the last three episodes, Harry, 38, focuses his anger more on Prince William, the heir to the throne, and talks more about how his relationship with the royal household fell apart.

He told how William attacked him during a royal summit at Sandringham Castle in January 2020 to discuss Harry and Meghan’s plan to step down and move away as senior royals.

In a column for The Sun, Clarkson said: “I hate her. Not that I hate Nicola Sturgeon or Rose West. I hate them on a cellular level.

“At night I can’t sleep as I lay there grinding my teeth and daydreaming about the day when she has to parade naked through the streets of every city in Britain while the crowd chants ‘Shame!’ and throw clods of feces at them.

“Everyone my age thinks the same way.”

In a column for The Sun, Clarkson said: “I hate her. Not that I hate Nicola Sturgeon or Rose West. I hate them on a cellular level.

In an apparent reference to the iconic Game of Thrones Walk of Shame scene, the ex-Top Gear host added that he’d like to see “people throw clumps of poo at them.”

However, the former home secretary tweeted: “I’m your age @JeremyClarkson and I couldn’t disagree more. Why do you have to be so terrible?

“I can’t believe it’s good for you and it certainly isn’t good for the rest of us.”

Another said: “I’m sorry but what has Meghan Markle done to deserve to be hated more than Rose West?”

“I’m trying to think what she did that’s worse than what Rose did? This is just disgusting and disgusting. Is Jeremy Clarkson upset that Meghan stood up for herself?

Ex-Labour spin doctor Ayesha Hazarika replied: “Many of us this week reflect on how misogyny has infected society and why violence against women is taking on such appalling proportions.

“I wonder where these fantasies of hating women and wanting to physically punish women come from?”

Clarkson continued, “But what really frustrates me is that younger people, especially girls, think they’re pretty cool. They believe she was a prisoner of Buckingham Palace, forced to talk only about embroidery and kittens.

“That makes me even angrier. Can’t they see that everything that happens is so obviously planned in advance?
