Jimmy Barnes hints at exciting new project after hip surgery

Jimmy Barnes is recovering at home from hip surgery to ease years of chronic pain and on Thursday he announced his wife Jane is giving him top-notch care.

The 66-year-old Khe Sanh star posted a photo on social media of him reclining in a lounge chair with his feet on the footrest and a laptop in front of him.

“Jane got me a fancy chair, I feel like I’m in first grade and that’s good for recovery. I can sit here out of my bed and work on my new book,” he told his followers.

The ARIA Award-winning singer couldn’t wipe the smile off his face as he whipped up a storm from his lounge chair and prepared to write a sequel to his 2017 memoir.

Jimmy’s fans were quick to point out that it appeared he was on the road to recovery.

One fan gushed, “Jane takes wonderful care of you,” while another said he was “lucky to have such a caring wife.”

Last month, Jimmy updated fans from the hospital following his urgent hip surgery.

Lying in his hospital bed next to his wife Jane, 66, and daughter Elly-May, 33, Jimmy wrote: “When you’re in the hospital, visitors can be the best medicine, especially my girls.”

“Today I walked without crutches and physio took me to the hydrotherapy pool. As many of you have advised, I will do exactly as they say,” he added.

“Jane got me a fancy chair, I feel like I’m in first grade and that’s good for recovery. I can sit here out of my bed and work on my new book,” he told his followers

Jimmy canceled his summer tour in December to undergo urgent back and hip surgery to ease years of chronic pain.

He’s been active on social media since his surgery and earlier this week Jimmy told fans he’s thrilled he’s now fit enough to walk up and down his stairs.

The legendary singer also told fans he’s glad he can now cycle non-stop for 10 minutes on his exercise bike.
