John Wick’s highly anticipated spin-off TV series The Continental will premiere in September

The highly anticipated John Wick TV spin-off series is set to premiere in September.
Producer Erica Lee has shed years of speculation about the release of The Continental, a three-part television series centered on the assassin’s hotel where Keanu Reeves’ Wick stays in the films.
The story centers on a young Winston Scott, played by Ian McShane in the original film.
Set in 1975 New York, Scott faces demons from his past and traverses a dangerous path in the big city’s underground scene to take control of the hotel.
Speaking to Collider, Erica Lee revealed that the series will be available on Peacock in the US and internationally on Prime Video in September.

She said: “The showrunners actually came, we heard a lot of pitches and we debated whether or not we wanted to do a similar John Wick timeline or an alternative timeline.
“We felt like doing a prequel, doing an alternate timeline gave us a lot of flexibility just because we were running parallel tracks.
“But what I think people love so much about John Wick and the world of John Wick is learning about the hotels and the Easter eggs.”
A younger Winston, who is close friends with Wick, is played by Continental Hotel manager Colin Woodell. Ayomide Adegun will star as a teenage Charon.
The producer went on to say that the team was “really excited” to delve “deeper” into the hotel and characters in each film as they always gave “so little” to audiences.
She said The Continental’s timeline and setting allows them to dive deep and explore each element more deeply.
The cast for the show is star-studded, with last year it being reported that Katie McGrath, Ray McKinnon, Adam Shapiro, Mark Musashi and Marina Mazepa have all signed, Deadline reported.
They join Mel Gibson, Colin Woodell, Peter Greene, Ayomide Adegun, Jeremy Bobb, Hubert Point-Du Jour, Jessica Allain, Mishel Prada, Nhung Kate and Ben Robson.
