Karl Stefanovic reluctantly agrees to take his wife to Magic Mike

Karl Stefanovic has agreed to watch a movie based on a raunchy all-male strip show with his wife Jasmine – but he doesn’t seem particularly keen on it.

The 48-year-old Today show host announced on Wednesday that he will be attending tomorrow’s premiere of Magic Mike’s Last Dance, the third installment in the Magic Mike franchise starring Channing Tatum.

“I just did something on behalf of all the men of Australia. I’ve decided to take my wife out to the Magic Mike premiere tomorrow night,” he said.

Today’s entertainment reporter Brooke Boney said Magic Mike was the kind of film Jasmine should see alone or with friends, not with her husband.

“Let her go alone,” she insisted.

Karl indicated that his wife was keen to go either way and said his attitude was, if you can’t beat them, join them.

‘You know what? You can’t fight it. I have to join Go all out,’ he said.

“You’re a brave man, Karl,” joked his co-host Sarah Abo.

It comes after Karl shut down his new co-host Sarah on Monday after she made a cheeky sex joke about his penchant for “Dick”.

He had just finished an interview with Dick Johnson, owner of V8 Supercars, when sportscaster Alex Cullen asked him if he was a motorsport fan.

This prompted Sarah, 36, to ask suggestively: “How much do you like Mr Johnson?”

Karl tried to keep things professional by saying Johnson was “a Queensland legend.”

Sarah then quipped: “There’s only one dick in your eyes.”

By this point, Karl was fed up with the “Dick” jokes and told his co-worker that they weren’t appropriate for breakfast TV.

“It’s Monday morning. That’s too much,’ he said bluntly.
