Kate Ferdinand shared a picture with her newborn daughter Shae as she celebrated a year after her heartbreaking miscarriage.
The former TOWIE star, 32, has previously opened up about how she suffered a devastating miscarriage at the age of 12 weeks when she found out the sad news on July 22, 2022.
Six months later in January, Kate confirmed that she and 44-year-old former soccer player Rio were pregnant again and just gave birth to their daughter Shae 12 days ago.
Now, Kate has shared a sweet snap on Instagram of her kissing her daughter Shae on the head as she discusses her miscarriage in a poignant post.
She said it had been exactly a year since the 12-week ultrasound she was told she had miscarried and described how “numb” she felt at the time.

But Kate went on to gushed about how “grateful” she was for welcoming her Shae, and urged everyone else who may be struggling to “hold on to hope.”
She wrote, “7/22/22 On this day last year we did our 12 week physical and found that I had miscarried.” The pain was numbing, I honestly didn’t know how to cope.
“7/22/23 I am feeding my beautiful 12 day old girl Shae.
“Even though I’m tired and hormonal as I sit here right now, I couldn’t be more grateful and feel so fortunate what a special gift this new life is, the most precious thing of all.”
“Thank you, universe. So much can change in a year. Everyone who is struggling tries to hold on to hope.

Kate and Rio announced back in January that they were expecting their second child together, six months after the heartbreaking miscarriage.
The former TV personality showed off a noticeable baby bump in a short black-and-white video clip on Instagram at the time.
Under the caption of the post, she wrote, “We’ve been praying for you.”
Kate suffered a miscarriage in July 2022, shortly after finding out she was pregnant with Rio, a second child.
Speaking on her Blended podcast in September, the former TV personality recalled the moment she found out she’d lost her unborn child.
“The day before my birthday, I found out I was pregnant,” she told listeners. “We were supposed to get on a boat and have a drink the next day and I was so seasick it was a crazy birthday.”
“Everyone else was crazy and dancing, I hadn’t told anyone and I was so sick on the boat.” I was so excited. Rio was so excited we couldn’t wait to have a sibling Cree’s age as the big kids are much older.
“We just thought it would be nice if a little friend walked around for him. “The kids stamped this time, so we told them and the family this time.”
Kate also recalled the moment she realized her pregnancy was not progressing and admitted she cried out tears when she saw the sonographer’s face when he was told there was no heartbeat left.
She said, “I thought maybe it was a girl because I felt a little different.” Looking back, I was sick at first and then I wasn’t. I was a little worried, but I’m still an anxious person.

Family: Kate and Rio have son Cree, two, while she is stepmother to Lorenz, 16, Tate, 14, and Tia, 12 – who Rio shared with wife Rebecca Ellison before she died of breast cancer in 2015
‘[Me and Rio] I went to lunch before the 12 week scan and there was blood and I felt like God was giving me a sign. We literally went to go to the scan.
“We both tried to pretend it didn’t happen and it was fine.” It was the longest walk to the hospital ever. I felt like I knew and someone was preparing me for it. I just had to look at the lady’s face. It was awful, I just burst into tears.’
She added, “I wasn’t prepared for what happened after that.” We had planned how to tell everyone. We had filmed the kids and wanted to go home and post it on social media.
“I just wanted to get out of the room, but also the thought of leaving the room scared me because I had to go and tell the kids and go home and act normal.”
