Kate Hudson’s missing Vera Wang wedding coat is found by a complete stranger in an old STORAGE UNIT – ending the actress’ desperate 17-YEAR search for the item she wore to her wedding to her ex-husband Chris Robinson

Kate Hudson will finally be reunited with her Vera Wang wedding coat from her wedding to Chris Robinson – 17 years after it went missing.

The 44-year-old actress wore the tailored coat in 2000 when she married the Black Crowes singer. But the couple separated in 2007 and the coat seemed to have disappeared – until now.

It wasn’t until second-hand enthusiast Chris Damone bought a storage unit at a New York auction for $2,000 that the white fur coat was rediscovered buried within its contents.

When Chris, from New Windsor, opened the storage unit, he found the garment bag labeled “Made to Order Vera Wang” by Kate Hudson.

However, he said it “didn’t even occur to him” that it was the “How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days” actress.

“I just assumed someone had the same name,” he admitted Insider.

However, he was curious and looked for the address on the label. He discovered that it was the same property that Kate used to own in Manhattan.

The man showed it to his cousin Lucille Damone, who runs a vintage clothing store called Galipette Vintage in New York’s Hudson Valley and has expertise in the fashion industry.

Lucille realized it looked like bridal jewelry, and after Googling “Kate Hudson wedding,” she came across photos of the actress and Chris on their wedding day.

To her surprise, she discovered that the photos of Kate – who married Chris in Aspen in 2000 – showed her wearing a white coat identical to the design her cousin unearthed in the storage unit.

“I couldn’t believe it,” Chris marveled. “Lucille and I were beyond thrilled to have found something so unique and special.”

Lucille agreed and gushed that she had “all the feels” when they found out who the coat belonged to.

“I was shocked, excited, amazed,” she said. “As a vintage dealer, part of the absolute joy of my work is finding the pieces.”

The vintage expert also praised the design, which is a unique piece created specifically for the actress’ special day.

“It’s made of the absolute softest fur I’ve ever felt,” she said of the coat. ‘[It] has a shawl collar and a dramatic train.’

Chris and Lucille found the coat a year ago, but it wasn’t until early October that they were able to contact Kate to let her know what they had found.

“I reached out to a few people who might be able to get in touch to let her know I had her coat, but apparently the messages never reached them,” Chris explained.

They eventually tracked down the Something Borrowed actress through another vintage clothing dealer, Cherie Federau, and were able to let her know they had her coat – which she had been looking for for almost 20 years.

“It turns out she had been looking for this coat since 2006 and she was very excited to get it back,” Chris said.

“I am honored to be part of this full-circle moment to return it to its rightful owner, Kate,” she said. “I’m sure it will be an emotional moment for her.”

Kate was married to Chris Robinson since 2000 before splitting in 2006.

The couple has son Ryder (19). Kate also has a 12-year-old son Bingham with her ex-fiancé Matt Bellamy, whom she dated from 2010 to 2014.

Kate is currently engaged to musician Danny Fujikawa, whom she has been dating since 2016, and the couple share a daughter, Rani Rose, five.
