Preston, one of Melbourne’s most violent gangsters, was released from prison in April after spending 11 years behind bars for the 2012 death of drug dealer Adam Khoury.

Preston has also been involved in a series of shootings this year after another drug dealer was also injured.

Preston, who was “known” as capable because he was “capable of anything,” has an extensive list of violent crimes, including armed robbery and the use of weapons, dating back to when he was 18 years old.

Police and underworld figures have been on alert since Preston’s release.

The 50-year-old criminal was suspected of being involved in the death of former biker Toby Mitchell and was allegedly plotting to kill Mick Gatto.
