Kevin Spacey arrives in court as the jury prepares to resign in a Hollywood star’s sexual assault trial

Kevin Spacey was pictured arriving at a court in London today for the final day of his sexual harassment trial.

The two-time Oscar winner, 63, has been accused of assaulting four men “for his own sexual gratification” between 2001 and 2013.

Jurors have heard claims that the House of Cards star is a “sexual bully” who takes pleasure in making his assault victims feel “powerless and uncomfortable.”

But Spacey has denied all allegations and his attorney told the jury that three of the complainants lied and they should not convict him of “clumsy assault” on a fourth man.

The jury is expected to retire today to consider their verdicts after Judge Wall completes his résumé.

In his closing speech last week, Defense Counsel Patrick Gibbs, KC, told Southwark Crown Court: “There are three liars in this case.” With electrodes we can’t look inside their brains and know what they’re thinking.

“The reason they lie may only be known to them.” The problem with [the fourth complainant’s] “The evidence isn’t that he’s a liar, it’s that he wasn’t quite sober like he describes it – but neither was anyone.”

He continued to question the statements made by the applicants’ family and friends, adding: “They have referred the police to the people they believe will faithfully and honestly tell the stories they have been told.”

“Think carefully as you examine this strand of evidence. It is not independent, coming from the mouth of the complainant himself, and therefore does not constitute independent confirmation that these things happened.

“I’m not suggesting they are liars, I’m suggesting they serve as a sounding board for what they’ve been told.”

One man claims he was repeatedly attacked by Spacey, including once while driving the star to one of Elton John’s White Tie and Tiara Ball AIDS fundraiser at his Windsor home in the early 2000s.

Regarding the allegation, Mr Gibbs said: “It was 20 years before he reported himself to the police.” A belated allegation. We’ve done our best all these years later to answer whether we succeeded or not is your business.

“Most of it [the man] The claims so far are so vague and everything has been done in private that it is impossible to contradict them. And then one person’s word stands against the other.

“It turned out to be a complete fake.” It’s the dramatic centerpiece, it’s the crotch grip. He was grabbed so hard it caused him so much pain that he nearly crashed his car.’

The attorney told the court that “according to the evidence, it was a work of fiction” that “aimed to dramatize and appreciate a reinterpretation of all that really transpired between these two men long after the events.”

“It’s a fiction that emphasizes that he never went along with the contact that took place between the two, that he never consented to any kind of sexual touching.”

“That would show if it were true, wouldn’t it?” And I suggest that it should show exactly what it’s supposed to show.

“That it was an abusive relationship that resulted in varying degrees of violence and aggression and eventually led to it.” But the Crown now says of that claim, “Well, dates don’t matter.”

“My response is that they would say so now, wouldn’t they?” Since none of the dates they relied on work, every single date has been disproved.

“Is that why the Crown is now arguing that dates don’t matter anymore?” Because there is no such thing as a date that works.’

Mr Gibbs said: “I’m not saying that.” [the man] is gay, but I suspect he wouldn’t be the first person to meet a charismatic, compelling admirer.

“While this may have left him embarrassed and confused about the matter with his girlfriend, my private advice is that he didn’t turn it down.”

“Perhaps, I don’t know, I’m not a psychiatrist, he later had to describe what happened not only to his brother but to himself as well, because it explained a confusing episode in an otherwise conventional life.”

“Maybe it even helped him get mad about it.” Now that Kevin Spacey has been canceled and people are asking him about it, he has the perfect opportunity.

“He had the perfect opportunity to rewrite history with these simple words: ‘I was abused by Kevin Spacey, as were the other three people identified by the CPS.’ That was the moment of greatest opportunity to do that.”

Spacey in January pleaded not guilty to three counts of indecent assault, three counts of sexual assault and one count of inducing a person to engage in sexual activity without consent.

He also previously denied four other charges of sexual assault and one involving inducing a person to engage in penetrative sexual activity without consent.

Another charge of indecent assault, an alternative count, was added mid-trial, bringing the total number of alleged offenses to 13.

On Wednesday, the four assault charges were dismissed by the judge on the basis of a “legal formality” and not because prosecutors had dropped all allegations.

The charges relate to alleged crimes between January 1, 2001 and June 24, 2005.

The two-time Academy Award winner has starred in Glengarry Glen Ross, Seven, LA Confidential and Baby Driver. He also starred in the Netflix series House of Cards.
