KIIS FM radio presenter Lauren Phillips announces her engagement to multi-millionaire boyfriend Paul O’Brien after surprising marriage proposal in Mykonos: ‘I thought he was joking’
KIIS FM presenter Lauren Phillips announced her engagement to multi-millionaire partner Paul O’Brien live on air Monday.
The 41-year-old TV and radio presenter shared the exciting news with her co-host Jase Hawkins and spoke about the surprise proposal in Mykonos.
O’Brien runs the high-end aviation charter group AVMIN and has several celebrity clients including Matt Damon, his wife Luciana Barroso, Chris Hemsworth and his wife Elsa Pataky.
“We went to Europe for the holidays. “We spent a few days in Rome, just the two of us, and I figured if he had proposed, it would have been both of us,” she began.
“Then we went to Mykonos and met up with all our friends. Turns out I was the only person who didn’t know about it.” He proposed in front of all of our friends. I had no idea and the next moment he was on one knee.’

The brunette beauty said the public proposal was such a surreal experience that she initially thought Paul was teasing her.
“I think I thought he was joking. It was an out of body experience. I don’t think I even looked at the ring. I just hugged him and cried and then we got up and we all celebrated.’
She couldn’t contain her delight as she discussed the ultra-romantic proposal.
“Everyone said, ‘You didn’t say yes,’ and I was like, ‘Of course it’s a yes!’ We then called my family, who were at home at the time. He asked my father. “He’s a gentleman,” she added.

Paul previously dated former Sunrise host Samantha Armytage from 2018-2019.
Lauren started dating Paul while living in Melbourne at the start of the Covid pandemic in early 2020.

But when Victoria imposed lockdown in July of that year, she moved to Byron Bay.
She reportedly moved in with Paul while she continued to work as the weather presenter for Weekend Today – a role she has since left to focus on her radio career.
Prior to her relationship with Paul, Lauren was married to TV producer Lachlan Spark for a year and the two confirmed their split in December 2018.
