Kyler Murray is reportedly lucky in a “best-case scenario” when it comes to his ACL injury, as the Cardinals quarterback has a perfectly reasonable chance of being ready for Week 1 next year.

Murray was sent off Monday against the Patriots after tearing the cruciate ligament in his right knee, ending a season in which he was only healthy enough to start (and finish) 10 games.

But despite the non-contact injury sustained earlier this week, Murray is “on track” to be ready for the start of next season with a recovery time of six to eight months, ESPN reported, citing unnamed sources.

Those sources also told ESPN that doctors believe the other ligaments in Murray’s knee are intact, with one saying he has a “really good chance” of being ready for Week 1.

Assuming he’s back early next season, Murray is hoping for a better year on a team and individual level.

Murray has won 3-7 in the games he’s started and finished this season, while the Cardinals — who made the playoffs last season behind an electrifying offense — are currently languishing 4-9.

On an individual basis, it wasn’t Murray’s best year either.

The fourth-year quarterback averaged by far the lowest yards-per-try mark of his career in 2022 (6.1), while his touchdown percentage (3.6) was also the lowest mark of his career.

Murray threw 14 touchdowns and seven interceptions for 2,368 yards this season while adding 418 yards and three points on the ground.

He will be replaced by veteran Colt McCoy for the remainder of the season.
