Lamar Odom Praises Kris Jenner for Personal and Business Connections…

Lamar Odom opened up about his tumultuous life in the new Fox special Sex, Drugs and Kardashians, which aired Monday night.

The 43-year-old former NBA star spoke to TMZ founder Harvey Levin about his battle with addiction, his marriage to Khloe Kardashian and more.

We break down the biggest revelations from the hour-long special below.

Lamar’s doctors didn’t think he’d walk again after a brothel overdose

After signing his divorce papers from Khloe Kardashian, Odom went to Bunny Ranch, a legal brothel outside of Las Vegas, where he was eventually found unresponsive.

“All my doctors who were around me when — when the incident happened, like a walking miracle,” Odom said.

“Once I got out of it, I was never going to walk or speak again,” the NBA star said.

Meeting Khloe Kardashian

Lamar was playing for the Los Angeles Lakers for nearly a decade when he went to a party thrown by new teammate Ron Artest in 2009.

“Ron Artest had a welcome party at the LA party, I was sitting on the VIP…I was there with another woman, a really attractive woman, and I see this girl,” Odom began.

“I recognize Rob Kardashian, but I didn’t know who Khloé was at the time. I [let her know] who I was and it’s crazy because in 30 days we’d be married. It’s creepy,’ admitted Odom.

When Levin asked her how Kris Jenner treated her, Odom revealed, “I used to call her mom. She showed a lot of love. she was cool I loved her. We all got into business. It was a family business – you know that, Harvey.

“I feel comfortable enough [for her to be my manager]. I’m lucky enough to do it. … I made some money. I came out positive,” he added.

Odom continued, “I don’t think people really give them credit for their family dynamic. The family is going to go through shit and I think they’ve handled their shit phenomenally well.

Khloe & Lamar debuted on E! in April 2011, a year and a half after they tied the knot in September 2009 after just a month of dating.

“I was a great basketball player, but I know that marrying Khloé Kardashian gives me relevance in the entertainment world in so many ways,” Odom said.

“I knew what I was signing up for. I did business with my wife. It’s their business, so I’ll make it my business,” he added.

Odom added that the Los Angeles Lakers are “very supportive” of the show and he even asked Lakers legend Kobe Bryant about it.

‘He just said, “You know, if you bring it, [we] I don’t care.” And I ended up winning the NBA Sixth Man of the Year award, so I knew he had a lot of respect for it. … That was the happiest thing I’ve ever been in my adult life. … She became everything I what I wanted,” said Odom.

Lamar’s descent back into drugs … and telling Khloe

Odom was traded from the Los Angeles Lakers to the Dallas Mavericks, though he didn’t perform well and revealed he was in a “dark place” following the death of his cousin in 2011.

He slipped back into drug use, saying during the special, “Drugs — that was my girlfriend. I had a wife and cocaine.”

He said he ended up telling Khloe about his drug use, adding, “You can’t hide that forever. … She was hurt, but Khloé was a good wife. She wasn’t dismissive or [saying], ‘Get away from me.’ … She was protective and wanted to protect me even more. you [stood by me]. I mean, I’ve been through a lot behind the scenes. How s—t that you all don’t know. … The stories that you all don’t know are really crazy.

A woman he cheated with named Khloe because she thought Odom would kill himself

In addition to his drug addiction, Odom also dealt with sex addictions, which the two often got together.

He revealed, “Like what — what could I actually tell Khloe to leave her for a few hours to, like, even, like, go do drugs with a random woman.”

“Where the woman, I go so hard on the drugs, the woman actually comes on my phone and actually calls Khloe. Like, “Yo, you have to come and get him. He’s gone damn crazy. He’s going to kill himself.” Huh? And they took me that night to get help,” revealed Odom.

Lamar reveals Kris Jenner told him Khloe would be on SoulCycle

Two years after Khloe originally filed for divorce from Odom, the basketball player was photographed seeing Khloe outside of SoulCycle, ultimately leading to allegations that he was “stalking” her.

Odom admitted he’s “a little foggy,” “as far as I can remember, she sort of arranged it for me to meet Khloé down at SoulCycle.”

“I came down and she kind of treated me like she didn’t know me, which was a bit hurtful. She kind of made a scene and then paparazzi came out of nowhere. So this hurts me. Then it kind of came out like I was trying to put my hands on her or something – then I’m really hurt. I got a little defensive,” he added.

As Levin adds it looked like Jenner set him up, Odom added, “What would you set up? … What would you gain from it? Trying to ruin myself or not makes me stop coming around or make people think a certain way about me?’

Lamar thinks Bunny Ranch owner Dennis Hof tried to kill him the night he overdosed at the brothel

The day Odom finally signed his divorce papers, he went to Bunny Ranch in Crystal, Nevada and revealed that he told them to charge his credit card $75,000 to keep it a secret that he was there.

The toxicology reports revealed that Odom had cocaine in his system, but he swears he didn’t do any cocaine that night and claims Dennis Hof, who owned the ranch and died in 2018, tried to kill him.

“That motherf***er wanted to kill me,” says Odom, although when Levin asks why he wanted to kill him, Odom said, “I don’t know, Harvey. I do not know. That’s just what I can tell you. I went there, I didn’t do any drugs that night. I ended up with drugs in my system.’

He added he was only there one night, adding: “As far as I’m concerned, there was only one night. I arrived… Had a drink. And woke up three days later, ripping tubes out of my throat, not knowing how I got there. Unable to speak or– or walk.”

When Levin asked if he was “sure” he didn’t take any drugs the night of his overdose, Odom said, “As much as I’m sure, I’m a black man sitting before you.”

Lamar’s relapse before he finally gets clean

After recovering from his ranch ordeal, he faced financial difficulties that prompted him to sell his three NBA championship rings.

“It shows you how strong the addiction is. We see it all the time. In Hollywood we see it damn all the time. I’m just one of the lucky ones who didn’t need it,” Odom said.

He added his “love of life” and a desire to “thank the Lord that you spared him” has helped him stay sober today.

“The thought of cocaine as quick as I just said it is as quick as it got out of my head to do it. I’m off the street, I don’t even know how a motherfucker can put himself in the mix of cocaine and this shit that’s going on – all this fentanyl and all that. It’s not even worth it,” he said he.

Lamar would be open to a possible reconciliation with Khloe Kardashian

Odom revealed that Khloe was the only woman who made him feel “safe” enough to get married.

He said he’d “of course” like to reconcile with Khloe, but he doesn’t feel like he should reach out to her right now.

“I’m not a loser and I felt like I lost. I would like to take Khloé out to dinner. … [But] I’m too shy and I’m a Scorpio and I hate being said no or being denied. I’m afraid,’ he said.

Lamar on Khloe’s ex, Tristan Thompson

Odom also opened up about Khloe’s most recent ex, Tristan Thompson, who she dated on and off from 2016 until their final split last year.

“Of course, if she gets hurt, it hurts me. I think what hurts me more is that it’s not my job to protect her,” he said.

“The only way I can protect her is when she says, ‘Lamar, I need your help with this,'” he added.

Lamar gets his NBA championship rings back…for free

Long after he sold his three NBA championship rings for financial reasons, a chance encounter with a Los Angeles Lakers fan resulted in him getting the rings back for free.

“He’s like, ‘I’ve got the friggin’ rings, bro. I have to put them back where they belong,” Odon said.

“So what are you talking about, man? He said, “Damn championship ring.” That’s what he said. “Damn championship ring, brother.” You must come and fetch her,” Odom explained with a smile.

“I said, ‘When should I get them?'” Odom said, and when Levin asked if he would charge Odom for the rings, he said, “No. He– he gave it to me for free.’

“Therefore, Laker fans, you are all the greatest fans of all time. It’s funny, I didn’t wear them as much as I had them. It’s crazy, now I always feel like they just go with my — every outfit,” he said, showing the rings to the camera.
