Larry Emdur describes sitting by Grant Denyer’s side in the hospital

Larry Emdur has revealed how he sat at Grant Denyer’s side while the TV presenter was hospitalized after breaking his back in 2008.
Appearing on It’s All True? Podcast alongside Grant and his wife Chezzi Denyer, where the Morning Show host was thanked for his help during this difficult time.
‘When Grant broke his back, you came and sat next to him. I don’t know if you ever realized how that affected Grant,’ said Chezzi.

“You would come and sit with Grant, he was as high as a kite and he would tell all kinds of stories and he would always feel a lot better after you would come and sit next to him and you would tell him many times that he would be fine .’
Larry replied, “We’re a small club. It’s a small club. There aren’t many people doing what we do. We are not many. We’ll all fit on one plane to fly to the Logies.
‘I remember this Grant very well. I remember how it affected us all. You are one of the most popular in the business. It was terrible. My goodness,” he continued.

“For people who love you and care about you and for fans of you. Going and sitting there and listening to your cops while stoned from your face was the least I could do,” he added

Grant thanked Larry profusely for being by his side and said others “ran away” in the face of the tragedy.

Chezzi also thanked the breakfast television presenter for staying with Grant in the hospital so she could go home and shower.
Over the years, Grant and Chezzi have faced many challenges in their marriage.

Denyer previously opened up about his painkiller addiction during a discussion with his roommates about “I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!”
He explained he once threw eggs at his wife Chezzi when he was hungry during his recovery.

In 2014, Grant attended a wellness center in Thailand that specializes in treating PTSD and fatigue
“I decided to crash what…when I disappeared…” he told Abbie Chatfield, Alli Simpson and Toni Pearen.
“Buddy, I threw eggs at her [Chezzi] one night. I cracked it for some reason. I was hungry and in pain and confused and just started throwing eggs at her.
“She doesn’t deserve this, but you just can’t stop.”
