League of Legends Season 2023 Kickoff Event Schedule

With the conclusion of the 2022 League of Legends World Championship, competitive League of Legends fans have been waiting for the start of the 2023 Spring Split.

While certain regions host an offseason tournament to get fans excited for the new season, there are some regions that avoid any professional play between Worlds and Spring Split. For a long time, the best players from different regions took part in an all-star event, but this event was canceled after 2020. Riot Games has decided to create a brand new event: the Season 2023 Kickoff Event. It will feature players from nine professional leagues competing against each other over a two-day period.

In this event, all regions will play in best-of-3 format, with the exception of the LPL, which will play in best-of-1 format. Specifically, there will be no champion bans, and teams will not be able to select the same champion more than once. As a reward for the winners, each of the professional teams represented on the winning page can create an emote.

With the 2023 League of Legends season kickoff event less than a week away, it’s important for fans to know the schedule. The event begins on January 10th, the same day that Season 13 and the new patches for League of Legends are released.

Four regions will play on opening day. The first region to play is the defending Champions League champions Korea, which will take place from 4-8pm ET. The Vietnam Champion Series plays runners-up from 8-11 p.m. ET. During the lunchtime window, the Campeonato Brasileiro de League of Legends will play from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. ET.

For the benefit of LCS fans, the LCS was given the final timeslot of Day 1 and played from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. ET. If anyone missed any of the action from the previous games, there will be a replay until midnight.

Upon completion of the replay, the League of Legends Japan League will be played on January 11 from 2-5pm ET. Due to the format layout, the 5-8 p.m. ET games will be LPL best-of-1 games. The seventh region to be featured is the Pacific Championship Series, which will be played from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. ET.

To help European fans, the League of Legends European Championship will be played from 11:00am to 2:00pm ET. The final region to be featured is the Liga Latinoamérica, which will be playing live from 2pm to 5pm ET. The remainder of day two consists of replays running until midnight, concluding the event.
