League of Legends Skarner VGU release date

A visual and gameplay update (VGU) in League of Legends refers to a complete change in a champion’s gear, as well as a change in graphical design. These updates help Riot Games keep older characters playable, even if they’ve been irrelevant for a significant amount of time.

The most recent VGU was Udyr, a champion that needed an art update and had an outdated kit. Since Udyr’s update, he has consistently been one of the strongest junglers due to his newly discovered kit, which offers much stronger abilities than he previously had available.

Overall, VGUs are an important part of League of Legends and will continue to be released for older champions that appear unplayable in-game. One of those characters is Skarner, who announced his VGU a long time ago.

This is where players can expect the Skarner VGU to be available in-game.

Riot announced in a Dev Update video this morning that the release of the Skarner VGU is still planned. They struggle with the character having a consistent theme and matching the look that embodies the Scorpio and Crystal aesthetics. So Riot is still thinking about what changes they want to make to their kit and what abilities they want to keep.

Riot hasn’t given an official release date for the Skarner VGU, but the update video mentioned there will be blogging soon, which should include more information about it. As such, players will have to wait a bit longer to get a true release date, but it is still being worked on and will eventually be released.
