Lewis Capaldi’s new album has topped the rest of the top 20 on the official album chart, making it the fastest-selling album of the year so far.

According to the Official Charts Company, “Broken By Desire To Be Heavenly Sent” topped the biggest opening week of the year so far, Ed Sheeran’s “Subtract,” and surpassed Capaldi’s 2019 album Divinely Uninspired by a hell of a lot.

Lewis’ album totaled over 95,000 chart units, while Capaldi’s previous album only charted 89,000 units in its first week of release.

Speaking to the Official Charts Company, Capaldi said, “What’s the use of a man if he wins the world but loses his soul?” A damn number one album, baby!

“Thank you for going out this week and getting the album.” “Broken By Desire To Be Heavenly Sent” is number one on the official album chart.

Upon release, “Midnights” immediately broke a number of records, becoming the most-streamed Spotify album in a single day.

Lewis’ fans broke down in tears on Wednesday as he opened up about how his mental health issues nearly ended his career.

In his emotional documentary, the musician opens up about how the pressure after the success of his first album Divinely Uninspired to a Hellish Extent triggered “terrible” panic attacks.

Lewis, who was diagnosed with Tourette after doctors noticed his uncontrollable shrug, also spoke of being a hypochondriac.

Hypochondria causes sufferers to experience extreme anxiety about their health, including fears of being or becoming seriously ill.

The Scottish singer said: “I’ve always been a hypochondriac.” I became obsessed with it, if something was wrong with me I thought, “Shit, I’m dying.”

“I went to a therapist and she was like, ‘Don’t you think that has something to do with the fact that your grandmother and your aunt both died when you were three and four years old, within a year?’
