Liechtenstein’s Sandro Wolfinger scored an early goal of the season candidate when the midfielder scored a stunning volley in the Euro 2024 qualifying match

  • Liechtenstein lost 2-1 to Bosnia and Herzegovina in the European Championship qualifiers on Friday
  • Liechtenstein conceded two early goals before scoring a miracle goal
  • Sandro Wolfinger found the top corner with a volley from outside the penalty area

There were plenty of international matches for fans to enjoy on Friday night, but there is no doubt which game produced the best goal.

That game was Bosnia and Herzegovina versus Liechtenstein, where Sandro Wolfinger scored one of the most magnificent volleys you will ever see.

Edin Dzeko had already broken the stalemate in the third minute before Bosnia took a 2-0 lead thanks to an own goal from Simon Luchinger.

But with a real magical moment the guests got back into the game.

A corner was headed clear, but only into the path of Wolfinger, who caught it from the air with an incredible volley into the top left corner.

His teammates looked stunned, while the defenders looked as if they had accepted that there wasn’t much they could have done about it.

Unfortunately, it was to be the last goal of the evening for Liechtenstein.

That puts them bottom of Group J after losing all five games.

Portugal leads the group with a perfect record from the first five games.
