Lionel Messi is set to leave Paris Saint-Germain at the end of this season, with the Argentinean set to play his last game against Clermont Foot on Saturday.
PSG manager Christophe Galtier confirmed in a Friday afternoon press conference that the world champions will depart, with Inter Miami being one of many possible destinations.
“Clermont Foot will be Messi’s last game at PSG,” said Galtier. “I’ve had the privilege of coaching the best player in the history of football. It will be Leo’s last game at Parc des Princes.”
Messi joined PSG in 2021 after a financial tug-of-war with Barcelona and has won two Ligue Un titles, although the Parisians are no closer to lifting the Champions League crown.
The 35-year-old has hinted that leaving Barcelona has matured him as a player and some suggest stepping out of his comfort zone has allowed him to develop the leadership qualities he displayed when they won the World Cup in Qatar in December had.

French media reported this morning that Messi could make a sensational Camp Nou return but that Barcelona would struggle to financially secure a move.
However, an alternative suggested by L’Equipe is that Messi could join Inter Miami and be loaned out to the Catalan club.
Inter Miami, managed by Phil Neville, are said to offer Messi a lucrative deal while Asian clubs remain interested.
“I hope he will be received in the best possible way,” Galtier added ahead of Messi’s last game. PSG have already won the Ligue 1 title.
