Lisa Marie Presley’s half-brother Navarone Garibaldi reflected on her “surreal” death in an emotional new interview published on Wednesday marking the star’s 55th birthday.

Garibaldi, 35, the son of Priscilla Presley, 77, and her former partner and ex, producer Marco Garibaldi, 68, also praised Lisa Marie’s daughter Riley Keough, 33, for taking care of her twin sisters Harper and Finley, 14 , has cared interview with people.

The interview comes 20 days after Presley’s tragic death on January 12 at the age of 54 after suffering cardiac arrest at home and being rushed to a hospital following CPR.

He said of her shock, “It’s still so surreal,” before adding that he wanted to do the interview because “people know about me, but they don’t know me” — days after he attended a Jan. 22 Presley’s memorial service at Graceland.

Garibaldi also said he and Presley grew apart in the years leading up to her death.

The interview also comes Priscilla is challenging a revision of her 2016 will that removes her and Lisa’s former executive Barry Siegel as her trusted managers, replacing them with Riley.

While Garibaldi did not comment on the legal move, he did reveal that he was close to Riley, saying, “Riley was so good with the twins.”

Presley shared Harper and Finley with ex-husband Michael Lockwood, with whom she was involved in a bitter custody battle.

Garibaldi also reflected on his own struggles with drug addiction — after it was revealed that Presley “went back on opioids and weight-loss drugs” prior to her tragic death.

He said he started using heroin as a teenager before becoming addicted to fentanyl.

He said; “I was under the impression I was on heroin, but then it turned out to be fentanyl. That was a whole different beast. I got so hooked I needed it every 45 minutes.

He got clean in 2020 so he could visit his wife Elisa in Switzerland and said he detoxed at Priscilla’s house “and in the fetal position” for a month

Last month, Garibaldi took to Instagram with a childhood picture of himself dating his sister.

He was referring to Lisa Marie’s late father, Elvis Presley, who died in 1977 when she was nine; and their late son, Benjamin Keough, who died of suicide in July 2020 at the age of 27.

“Big sister… I hope you are peaceful and happy now with your father and son by your side,” Garibaldi said. “I know the last few years have not been easy for you and I wish things had been different between us… never mind you are my sister and I send love and prayers for your journey home.

He finished by saying: “I still can’t believe this, words fail me. I love you sister. Beijos.’

Garibaldi paid tribute to his late half-sister a day after his mother confirmed in a statement that the singer-songwriter had died after being rushed to a hospital following an alleged cardiac arrest.

“It is with a heavy heart that I share the devastating news that my beautiful daughter Lisa Marie has passed away,” Priscilla told People. “She was the most passionate, strong and loving woman I have ever known.

“We ask for privacy as we try to deal with this profound loss. Thanks for the love and prayers. There will be no further comment at this time.’

Lisa Marie’s last public appearance at the Golden Globes was two days before her death, where she attended in support of the Baz Luhrmann film Elvis.

This comes after family sources claimed Lisa Marie Presley was trying to lose weight for Elvis awards season and was even taking opioids in the weeks leading up to her death.

The star underwent plastic surgery two months before the Golden Globes and lost up to 50 pounds as part of a strict regimen, insiders told TMZ.

At the awards ceremony just days before she died suddenly from cardiac arrest at her home in California, the star was spotted slurring her words and unsteady on her feet on the red carpet.

In the clip, she turned to boyfriend Jerry Schilling, 80, and said, “I’ll grab your arm,” when asked questions by extra host Billy Bush ahead of the event.

She appeared to be speaking slowly and slurring her words while discussing movie star Austin Butler and the storms and floods in Southern California.

Lisa Marie previously struggled with an opioid addiction after being given a short-term prescription during her recovery after the birth of her twin daughters, Harper Vivienne and Finley, in 2008.

By 2013, she was a heavy cocaine abuser and entered rehab at least five times.

Overdoses of opioids are known to trigger cardiac arrest, and after an extended period of cleansing from an addiction, the body’s tolerance to the drugs will be much lower.

Meanwhile, damning court documents have pitted Priscilla against her granddaughter Riley, who alleges she was ousted as trustee and an “inconsistent signature” by her daughter Lisa Marie was used.

Priscilla filed legal documents to reverse a 2010 amendment to Lisa Marie’s trust that eliminated her and her daughter’s former executive Barry Siegel as trustees, replacing them with her grandchildren Riley and the late Ben Keough.

Ben Keough committed suicide in 2020, which would make Riley the sole trustee of Lisa Marie’s estate, but Priscilla hopes to invalidate that change.

Priscilla has questioned the validity and authenticity of the amendment, alleging that it was never served on her, the date on the document is suspect, the document misspelled Priscilla’s name, and Lisa Marie’s signature “does not match her customary and customary signature.”

Lisa Marie reportedly wanted her children to have access to her trust and wanted her eldest daughter Riley Keough to manage it, a close friend claims.

“Lisa’s intention was very clear,” the friend said when speaking to People on Monday. “Lisa really didn’t feel it [mother] Priscilla Presley did everything in her best interests.’
