Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has reportedly spoken ‘directly’ to Fiorentina’s Sofyan Amrabat as the latter looks to beat Man United in the race to sign the midfielder.
The Reds have been on the lookout for new midfield talent this summer but have been left behind by the signings of Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia, both of whom favored a move to rivals Chelsea.
However, Klopp could now win his own transfer battle with the release in the Netherlands ADVERTISEMENT He claimed Amrabat will ignore Manchester United offers to join Liverpool.
The source hints that the Liverpool manager managed to land the Moroccan international in talks and the 26-year-old is now adamant about moving to Anfield.
Amrabat has been linked with a move to United since he impressed at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar when Morocco scuttled their chances of progressing to the semi-finals.

The defensive midfielder, whose current contract has one year left, was also a key part of the Fiorentina side that reached the Europa Conference League final at the end of last season.
Morocco head coach Walid Regragui hinted in June that his talisman would be “signing to a new club soon” amid interest from United and Bayern Munich.
However, with the transfer window now ending and a move yet to be completed, Liverpool’s need for a midfielder could make them Amrabat’s most likely target.
The Reds are also close to finalizing a deal with Stuttgart-based Japan international Wataru Endo as they adjust to the departures of Jordan Henderson and Fabinho.
On Wednesday night, Mail Sport revealed the Reds had made a surprise £16million offer for the 30-year-old Stuttgart midfielder.
Endo, the fierce Japanese captain, is well known to Liverpool’s sporting director Jorge Schmadtke and can also play as a centre-back. He has to undergo a medical on Merseyside.
