London welcomes a festive pug cafe where you can cuddle the puppies dressed in festive outfits

Britain’s first pug cafe has opened ‘Pugmas’ this festive season, bringing Christmas fun in the form of seven rescued cuties in a range of adorable outfits.

Founded by pug enthusiasts Aaron Carty, Matt Pieterse and Lady Phyll, CuppaPug, London offers customers the chance to spend hours snuggling with this tiny pack of puppies.

If that’s not tempting enough, you can play with them and pet them extensively while they’re dressed up like Santa and his helpers.

The café’s motto is “Pugs welfare first, café second” and is home to seven resident pugs: Gaston (six), Bruce (five), Bowser (three), Beau (two), Gizmo (one), Bebe (one) and Baloo (six months). .

Aaron said: “Pugmas is very special to us here at CuppaPug!

“For Matt and I, Pugmas is about bringing festive cheer and pugs to people who really need a heavy dose of Christmas fun.

“We’re all Christmassy with a pink Santa, pink Christmas trees, lights and decorations and of course the pugs in their little Santa outfits.

“We also have Christmas drinks and cupcakes, including a gingerbread latte and warming hot chocolate with whipped cream and marshmallows – a pug favorite too, so pay attention!”

At CuppaPug, pug welfare is Aaron and Matt’s priority and their motto is “pugs first, cafe second”.

He added: “The welfare of the pug always comes first, so the benefit of visiting the cafe is that you not only get to immerse yourself in our seven resident pugs, but also the pug friends who visit us.

“The reaction we get from people walking by and seeing the boobs in the ball pit through the window is one of absolute awe.

“The café has a huge glass window which inspired me to build a ball pit in front of it as people have a lot of fun watching the pugs play when they pass by.

“The pugs love to play ‘find the carrot’ – all seven of them go nuts and jump over customers to find the treat first!

“People come home from work with a miserable face, but as soon as they see the boobs playing, they stop and smile and usually take a bunch of photos too.

“Many children who visit us tell us that it is the best day of their lives!

“Pugs are so good with children, and parents often bring in children who have had bad experiences with dogs to try to overcome them.

“Customer response has been overwhelmingly positive; We really are a happy place!

Aaron has always been a pug lover. He got his first pug in 2016 and every year since then, which is why the café always has seven four-legged friends in the house.

He added: “My first pug was Gaston who is now six years old. He is the lovable, grumpy grandpa of the group.

“Then there’s Bruce, the security dog, and Bowser, the group’s naughty pug. Gizmo the boss is a spoiled baby.

“Beau has epilepsy and a heart of gold, plus the newest pug, six-month-old Balu, is fierce and loves life.

“All pugs love being in the cafe and the attention they get. With CuppaPug being so busy, this is great as they always get the company and validation they crave.”

CuppaPug is planning to launch PugLates and cocktails will soon be on the menu as well.

Ten percent of their starting fee goes towards rescuing and housing pugs and they bring in pugs that need to be adopted and work with the National Pug Protection Trust providing customers with information and advice.

Aaron continued, “We just want to offer our customers and fans more of our ongoing pink pug craze.

“It’s such a beautiful atmosphere and being able to spend the whole day with our boobs is an incredible privilege that I want to share with people.

“The response on social media has been amazing and it has really helped draw people in.

“We update our social networks daily with fun and light content featuring all the pugs that have visited us, and people often share their own content as well.

“All cafes should be dog friendly but ours is unique and works well because our pugs are family.”

‘Once inside you can purchase a selection of drinks, cakes and hot food – plus treats to feed the pugs!’

Customers often brag about how therapeutic the experience is, especially when the pugs are having some quiet time in their beds or on the customers laps, but equally there can be lots of messy fun playing or exercising with the animals!

Aaron added, “This year ‘Pugmas’ will run until December 18th, so make sure you bring yourself down for some festive fun!”
