Lying that the P controller isn’t working: How to fix it

Wondering how to fix the Lies of P controller not working error? We have all the tips and tricks for PC users to get rid of the frustrating problem.

“Lies of P” takes fans on a spooky, puppet-filled journey as they attempt to save Pinocchio’s creator, Geppetto. As you explore Krat, deadly puppets and the Black Rabbit Brotherhood threaten your survival in the unstable city. The game debuted to mostly positive reviews, but many PC users can’t get their controllers to connect to the game on Steam.

How to fix the controller not working issue in Lies of P.

To fix the Lies of P controller not working error, players can try a few solutions. For those playing on Steam, a quick game settings adjustment works for most users. After going to “Properties” and then “Controller,” “Use Default Settings” will be checked. Click the drop-down box and use “Enable Steam Input” instead.

Players also need to ensure their controllers are up to date. Disconnect your controller and then reconnect it to see if you see any drivers or updates on your PC. Your controller may not be compatible with Lies of P until all updates have been installed.

And if you still have problems with your controllers, you can download DS4Windows. The program makes your PlayStation controller compatible with PC games, including Lies of P. On the Steam discussion forum user Helelo reported“PS controllers don’t work without DS4Windows.”

Unfortunately, there is no way to get PlayStation button commands in Lies of P. Even if you properly connect your PS4 or PS5 controller to the game, the on-screen prompts will still only apply to Xbox controllers.

Fans on the Steam discussion forum expressed frustration at the lack of PlayStation commands for the new version. User Helelo wrote, “We only get Xbox button prompts. We won’t play the game until the problem is fixed.” They continued: “How hard is it to add this [PlayStation] Command prompts on the PC?”

Hopefully the developers will introduce some concrete solutions to both the controller issues and the lack of PlayStation commands in Lies of P.
