Man faces charges after allegedly kidnapping a New Zealand estate agent as the desperate search for the missing woman continues

A man has been charged in connection with the alleged kidnapping of a New Zealand real estate agent, who has still not been found.
Yanfei Bao was last seen at ‘shops’ in Wigran, southwest Christchurch, around 10.30am on Wednesday.
The man was arrested at an airport for allegedly trying to board a plane New Zealand Herald reported.
He was remanded in custody and will appear in Christchurch District Court on Monday.

As part of the investigation, a silver Mitsubishi sedan was confiscated by officers on Saturday evening.
“We are interested in sightings of the vehicle from mid-week through last night but are particularly focused on the vehicle’s location on Wednesday 19 July at Wigram, Hornby, Tai Tapu, Halswell, Redcliffs and New Brighton,” said Detective Inspector Nicola Reeves.
“The investigation is ongoing and several people are assisting the police in the investigation.”
Ms Reeves announced that Ms Bao’s phone was found on the side of a highway, which was of particular concern to the police.
“Police searched several areas and found Ms. Bao’s cellphone on the South Expressway.” But Ms. Bao remains missing,” Ms. Reeves said.
“We are now interested in hearing from any citizens who may have been on the freeway on Wednesday and noticed anything unusual.”
“Anyone who has information, no matter how small, is asked to contact the police immediately.”

Ms Bao’s sister Huafei said the real estate agent had been in contact with a person who was trying to transfer NZ$600,000 (AU$550,949) from China to buy a property.
“Most of all I hope to find my younger sister and that she is doing well,” she said Things.
Ms. Bao’s family released a statement describing her as a “dedicated real estate consultant” who was “in touch with the local community through door knocking” at the time of her disappearance.
“My family and I are deeply concerned for the safety and well-being of my beloved wife Yanfei Bao,” Paul Gooch, Ms. Bao’s husband, said in a family statement.
‘Our 9-year-old daughter and I are desperate for any information that might help the police locate her.’
