Man United have equalized from VAR as Marcus Rashford did NOT intervene for offside

How WAS this goal allowed? Man United receive huge VAR help as Marcus Rashford is clearly offside and did NOT interfere in the game for Bruno Fernandes’ controversial Manchester derby equalizer

Bruno Fernandes leveled Manchester United against Manchester City in the 78th minute, with VAR conceding the goal after a possible offside in the build-up.

The Portuguese star shot home but it was Marcus Rashford who was ruled offside in the build-up but the referees ruled he had no part in the goal as he failed to touch the ball.

Rashford then scored a quick second from a cross from Alejandro Garnacho as the Red Devils quickly turned the tie on its head from 2-1 to take the lead.

A ball was played by United’s Casemiro from the right behind City’s defence, sending several home side attackers chasing, with Rashford clearly offside in his pursuit.

The striker appeared to want to hold on to the pass but instead kept to the side of the ball, cleverly avoiding touching it to keep the game alive.

As a result of his intervention, both Manuel Akanji and Kyle Walker were drawn in by the onrushing England forward, allowing Bruno Fernandes to steal a march and land at the bottom of the pass instead.

Rashford left the ball for his team-mate and Fernandes made the commitment, forcefully converting Brazil goalkeeper Ederson, who went off his line, to stop the 25-year-old.

After Rashford played a hugely influential role in the build-up to the first, Rashford then scored the second himself to mark nine straight games at Old Trafford by a goal.

Showing great composure, he converted a Garnacho cross across the penalty area in the six yard box to make it 2-1, with United celebrating a memorable derby win from a lost position.
