Manchester United star Antony crashed his £100,000 BMW on a motorway on New Year’s Eve.

Manchester United striker Antony was reportedly “shaken” after “crashing his £100,000 BMW on a motorway on New Year’s Eve” following Man United’s 1-0 win over Wolves.

The Sun claims the 22-year-old drove his BMW X6 into a roadworks on the M56 near his home in Hale, Greater Manchester while driving in “wet” conditions.

Police were called to the scene where the £80million winger “passed a breathalyzer test” before his car was recovered. The newspaper stated that “no one else was involved in the incident”.

A source from The Sun said: “It was dark and wet and he misjudged himself.

“He was shaken up but luckily nobody else was involved and he wasn’t hurt.”

Antony, who joined Old Trafford earlier in the summer, was disregarded in Man United’s 3-0 win over Bournemouth on Tuesday but returned on Friday and scored the opener in the Red Devils’ 3-1 win over Everton.

The striker crashed his £100,000 BMW X6 and was “shaken” by the incident.

The forward was also spotted in a Lamborghini Aventador in the days leading up to the game against the Toffees, according to The Sun.

After the game, the Brazilian, who has scored four goals in 15 games in a red jersey, said he had to deal with a “really difficult moment” and claimed he was “in shock”.

He said: “I’m very grateful to God to put this behind me now, grateful to the club, the players and the manager. Everyone stayed by my side.

“It was a really, really difficult moment for me days ago. But God was always on my side and I am also grateful to my family. I dedicate this goal to them, in moments like these you know who really loves you.”

After the game, he revealed he was “in shock” and had to deal with a “really difficult moment.”

The former Ajax forward, who scored with a sliding tap-in in the fourth minute of that game, also spoke of his excitement at how lucky he was to score for the Red Devils.

“First of all, it’s a feeling of joy,” he told TNT Sports after the game. “I’m happy to score again, especially at home.

“I’ve set a few goals for myself this season and it’s good to score once I’ve started thinking about personal goals. But the most important thing, of course, is United’s qualification for the next level.

“That’s my frame of mind now. I am 100 per cent focused on honoring the fans and the club. We all know the greatness of this club and we want to get United back where they deserve.
