kudu was was bought by Ajax for £8m in 2020 after impressing during his time at former club FC Nordsjaelland.

The Ghana international got off to a slow start in Amsterdam and struggled to maintain his place in the team behind Anthony, who joined Manchester United in 2022.

Kudus was second in the pecking order but since the Brazilian’s departure he has blossomed at the Dutch club, scoring 11 goals in 30 league games last season.

He continued to play an important role for Ajax in the Champions League last year, scoring in four of his six appearances in the competition, most notably against Liverpool at Anfield.

Kudus can play in attacking midfield, on the flanks as well as in attack and Erik ten Hag would like his versatility.

United have already strengthened their midfield with the signing of Mason Mount from Chelsea for £60m.
