Mason Mount could be out for SIX WEEKS after the Man United midfielder picked up a hamstring injury against Tottenham

Manchester United fear Mason Mount could be out for longer than initially anticipated with the hamstring injury he sustained against Tottenham.

Initial tests suggested the £55m Chelsea signing was sidelined for three weeks and would be back shortly after the international break.

However, there are concerns he could be out for up to six weeks, which would see him miss the Brighton visit after the international break and potentially United’s first Champions League group game, as well as their next two games against Nottingham Forest and Arsenal would.

United are on the lookout for another midfielder but that could underscore the need to keep Scott McTominay as cover.

The Scotland international, who lost to Burnley in a closed-door friendly yesterday, has interest from other Premier League clubs.
