Meg Ryan was all smiles as she spent her Wednesday evening with a friend in New York City.
The 61-year-old actress was spotted during an outing with a friend in New York’s Soho neighborhood.
The release comes just days after it was announced that her first film in eight years – What Happens Later – was postponed in order to sideline Taylor Swift’s concert film.
Ryan came out. She wore an army green dress that reached her calves and carried a black handbag over her shoulder
For Wednesday night’s Soho outing, she wore a pearl bracelet and silver ring.

The film – which Ryan also co-wrote and is adapted from Steven Deitz’s 2008 play “Shooting Star” – is about her character Willa and her ex Bill (David Duchovny).
They haven’t seen each other in years when they both find themselves snowed in at an airport overnight.
The film was originally scheduled to hit theaters on October 13th from indie distributor Bleecker Street, but that changed earlier this month.
“What Happens Later” was one of the many films whose release was postponed to make room for the concert film “Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour,” which is scheduled to hit theaters on October 13th.
Ryan’s new film will now be released on November 3rd, the last weekend that The Eras Tour hits theaters.
“Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour” has already grossed a whopping $37 million in presales, with box office analysts predicting an opening weekend of over $70 million.

Ryan recently spoke in a new interview with about her return to the romantic comedy genre with her film What Happens Later. Carol Burnett for interview Magazine.
“The easiest part was actually playing in it,” she said. “I want to direct again just so I can sit in the chair because I’m sure I missed a lot of things.”
The 61-year-old, who stars alongside David Duchovny in What Happens Later, remarked: “I hadn’t played a role in a long time, but it was fun with David.”
She added: “A lot of it was done in two takes. “I’m proud of that. I set everything up in advance so that when David and I got there, we were just trying to tell the truth.”
Meg explained that the process of cobbling together the film was “quite deliberate” – and was done on a budget of $3 million.
“We had to do it really quickly.” “A lot of these extras weren’t even ours, they were real people,” Meg revealed. “We went back to the post office and made the same palette for everyone.” “Thank God you can do a lot digitally now.”
Meg’s most recently released film was Ithaca, in which she starred opposite Tom Hanks and also marked her feature film debut as a director.
In a recently released trailer for What Happens Now, Meg’s character Wilhelmina and David’s character William meet by chance at an airport.

The last film Ryan starred in also happened to be her first film as a director: 2015’s Ithaca, a coming-of-age story set in 1942 during World War II.
She also starred in this film alongside her son Jack Quaid, Alex Neustadter as a 14-year-old telegram messenger who comes of age, and Tom Hanks as her on-screen husband.
Ithaca was Ryan and Hanks’ fourth film together, following 1990’s Joe Vs. The Volcano, 1993’s “Sleepless in Seattle” and 1998’s “You’ve Got Mail.”
It’s unclear if she currently has another directing project in the works, although that may be announced closer to the release of What Happens Later.
