Meghan Markle tops the poll of celebrities people are fed up with – with husband Prince Harry second

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been branded the most annoying celebs of 2022 – just weeks after the release of their sizzling multi-million dollar Netflix special that slammed the royal family.
The pair – whose high-profile split from the royal family dominated headlines in 2020 – each snagged a spot on Ranker’s recently released album Celebrities You’re Sick of in 2022, with the Duchess of Sussex topping the list of numbers that readers have reportedly gotten tired of.
The dubious accolades for the duo are significantly more pronounced than they were at the start of the year, when Markle was booked as low as 20th while her slightly better-performing husband was pinned at No. 1. 23
Names rounding out this year’s top ten are included Oprah Winfrey – in whose interview of the couple last year Markle claimed the royals had “concerns” about their sons’ skin color – as well as Amber Heard, James Corden, Kim Kardashian and several other polarizing figures.
In a list that, unlike the Sussexes, also included stars who have seen their reputations called into question this year – like Kanye West and Ellen DeGeneres – the Sussex squad was still there featured most prominently.

As of Saturday morning, the Ranker article points out that Meghan, a 41-year-old actress who starred in USA’s Suits, received a total of 24,201 votes out of more than 416,000 votes cast. The voting, which is tabulated in real time, ended on Saturday.
Harry, on the other hand, received almost 21,492 votes – both representing more than five percent of the almost half a million votes received.
The results – coming from around the world – show that the public is fed up the royal couple, who have managed to stay in the spotlight through a seemingly never-ending string of TV spots since moving to the US.
During an explosive chat with Winfrey in March last year, Meghan claimed her sister-in-law, Kate Middleton, had her in tears after an argument over bridesmaids being dressed ahead of the actress’ wedding.
Meghan and Harry’s claims have been commented on by a number of journalists and aristocrats, appearing in productions such as Meghan at 40: The Climb to Power and the more recent Harry & Meghan, which was released on December 15 after dating the pair for two years had dominated national headlines.
Speaking to Winfrey, Markle claimed that she was “silenced” by The Firm for voicing her concerns, which spurred her and Harry to finally take the step of leaving the palace.
Julie Montagu, who was born in Illinois but moved to the UK 16 years ago when she saw the son of 11 achieve success as a celebrity.

Markle struggled to “turn off” the American Dream and understand that her “duty was to the Queen,” claimed an aristocrat in one of several recent productions about the Duchess and her husband Harry. Meghan and the Queen are pictured at Buckingham Palace in 2018
“You can’t really be everything you want to be, or do everything you want to do, or say everything you want to say,” said Viscountess Hinchingbrooke.
“Your obligation to the Queen is very difficult for someone like Meghan.
“Turning off the American Dream and accepting ‘now you have to do as we say’ is difficult.”
As for the rest of the list, it seems that the hundreds of thousands of Ranker voters, in addition to their weariness at the not-so-camera-shy couple, also want to hear less from those giving them a platform.
That includes Winfrey, whose daytime show hasn’t aired in more than a decade.

Among the names that rounded out the top ten this year was Oprah Winfrey – in whose interview of the couple last year Markle claimed the royals were “concerned” about the color of their sons’ skin

In the couple’s 2021 interview with Oprah Winfrey, they said someone in the royal family made a comment about their son Archie’s skin tone
However, her blockbuster interview with the royals appeared to be enough to propel the 68-year-old to the top of the heat at No. 3 in the poll, while late-night talk show host James Corden, who also interviewed the couple in earned fifth place several times last year on his late-night show.
The comedian, also from the UK and living near Harry and Meghan’s sprawling Montecito mansion, was also criticized this year for allegedly stealing footage from other comics such as Ricky Gervais.
Also in the top ten was Ellen DeGeneres, another of Montecito’s neighbors, who finished sixth. DeGeneres, who said goodbye to her longtime daytime spot in May, interviewed the couple last November, a few months before her last taping.
The 64-year-old host has also come under fire in recent years for allegedly allowing a “toxic” work culture to take root behind the scenes of her hit show, with DeGeneres herself blaming herself for treating staff particularly badly.
