Michael J. Fox receives birthday wishes from friends including Back to the Future co-star Christopher Lloyd

As Michael J. Fox turned 62 this Friday, his celebrity friends showered him with birthday wishes on social media.

Topping the testimonials was none other than Christopher Lloyd, his co-star in the Back to the Future films that propelled them to international fame.

84-year-old Christopher posted a heart-warming picture of him and Michael becoming friends in front of the camera.

Honors poured in from such brave names as Ryan Reynolds, who joined the board of directors of the Michael J. Fox Foundation to fight Parkinson’s disease in 2009.

Ryan gushed about Michael on Friday; “I love this man, his work, his sense of humor, his generosity and his dedication to his incredible family.”

The heartfelt message was accompanied by a red carpet shot of Ryan flanked by Michael and his longtime wife, Tracy Pollan.

Tracy herself commemorated the occasion with an overwhelmingly romantic picture of the two snuggled up together on the stern of a boat.

‘Happy birthday prettier! I couldn’t love you more,” wrote Tracy, who has four children with her husband, “Let’s celebrate.”

Ali Wentworth, wife of George Stephanopoulos, called Michael “the most amazing human being” and posted an adorable photo of her hugging the birthday boy from behind.

The official Back to the Future series Twitter page also joined in the celebrations with a throwback to Michael as Marty McFly.

Michael and Christopher teamed up late last year to launch a line of merchandise for Back to the Future, the first film of which came out in 1985.

Christopher memorably played Doc Brown, the crazy old man who turns his DeLorean into a time machine, and while Michael led the cast as a 1980’s high school boy who travels back to the 1950’s.

The time travel comedy became an instant classic upon its release in 1985, spawning two sequels and additional content including a TV cartoon.

Back to the Future: The Musical is currently gearing up to hit Broadway this summer after a successful showing in the West End.

Meanwhile, Michael has been busy promoting his new Apple TV documentary Still, which follows his battle with Parkinson’s.

Directed by Bill Guggenheim, whose credits include documentaries on Bill Gates and Malala Yousafzai, Still was released last month.

“Michael calls Parkinson’s “the gift you keep accepting,” and there’s something to that. “Because there is clarity when you have such a terrible chronic diagnosis,” Bill noted in a recent report diversity profile of his star.

“There’s a kind of relentless decline that comes with Parkinson’s disease.” But what’s amazing about Michael is that all the falls and trips to the hospital may have left him bitter. But oddly enough, it just made him more confident and outspoken,” marveled the filmmaker.
