Michelle Heaton looks dejected as she makes a low-key exit from the Dancing On Ice stars’ hotel after her tearful debut on the rink

She made her debut skate in the opening episode of the 2023 series of Dancing On Ice on Sunday night.

And Michelle Heaton didn’t look in the best of moods as she checked out of the contestant’s hotel on Monday morning.

The 43-year-old Liberty X star was in tears after her disappointing results on Sunday night as she apologized to partner Lukasz Rozycki.

On Monday morning, Michelle donned a red baseball cap and padded coat as she walked home from her hotel, juggling a giant suitcase and several bags as she walked.

Explaining how much the show means to her on Sunday night, the star told the camera ahead of her performance: “My struggle with addiction is no secret.”

“A few years ago I was on Dancing On Ice and I just wasn’t in the mood for it. Yes, it was a lot. So yeah, it’s really surreal to be here.

Her routine included a wide variety of lifts but saw some missteps from Michelle as nerves got the better of her and the pop star had to lean more on her partner.

After getting 19 points from the judges, she started getting upset and started crying as she turned to her partner and said, “It’s just amazing and he was just amazing. I’m sorry.’

But she was reassured by hosts Holly and Phil, who assured the star it was a “good place to start”.

Michelle appeared to be in better spirits on Monday as she posted a heartfelt message to Instagram, thanking viewers for their votes.

‘Oh god, I hardly slept … last night was just everything. After a matrix error and a difficult scoreboard position I am so grateful for all the support you guys have given me,” Michelle wrote alongside a photo of her and Lukasz posing with their family.

As you can see last night, every vote counts. So thank you all so much. My family made me proud, so supportive – especially AJ, who picked his nose on live TV as they spoke to the contestants’ friends and family.

“Well that’s done, I’ll get rid of my wobbly legs and focus on skating for you all in week 3!

It’s been a rough start to the series for Love Island fan-favorite Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu, who landed herself in the bottom two with the fewest public votes – and couldn’t help her angry face.

But it was the ITV show that viewers weren’t happy with after being given just five minutes to cast their vote before it was shut down – many took to Twitter to complain about the rules as they blasted that you don’t even get time to pick up the phone”.
