Michy Batshuayi is OUT after Nottingham Forest and the Chelsea outsider wants to explore other options

Michy Batshuayi to Nottingham Forest is OUT and the Chelsea underdog will be looking at other options after missing deadline day’s move to the City Ground… and Fenerbahce are also interested in signing the Belgian

  • Michy Batshuayi’s planned move to Nottingham Forest has now fallen through
  • The Belgian was targeted as Forest’s twenty-first signing of the summer
  • But the move is now over, leaving the Belgian to look elsewhere for options
  • Fenerbahce are also in the running to sign Batshuayi before the window closes

Michy Batshuayi’s planned deadline day move to Nottingham Forest fell through at the last minute.

Steve Cooper’s side have been in talks with the Belgian’s representatives and appeared close to an agreement before falling through late Thursday night.

The 28-year-old must now try to move away from Stamford Bridge before the window closes, with Turkish club Fenerbahce keen on his services.

In the end, the Belgian was not given enough time to finalize the terms of a move to the City Ground – leaving it stuck in west London unless a solution can be found.

Batshuayi joined Chelsea from Marseille in 2016 before scoring 25 goals in 77 games for the Blues but quickly fell out of favor in west London.

The 28-year-old has since been on loan at Borussia Dortmund, Crystal Palace, Valencia and Besiktas – where he spent last season.

Forest had hoped to make him their 21st signing of the summer, with Blackpool’s Willy Boly and Josh Bowler signing earlier Thursday.

Boly joined the club in an initial deal worth £2.25million, while Bowler will join for £2million and will be loaned out to sister club Olympiacos.

Bowler made 41 appearances in four seasons for the club’s development team before spending the 2019-20 season on loan at Hull City.

Forest’s summer spending nears the £150m mark as Cooper’s side continue to attract attention with their stunning summer transfer frenzy.
