Mikel Arteta announces Leandro Trossard is available for £27million to make his debut against Manchester United in the Emirates crunch clash on Sunday
Mikel Arteta has confirmed £27million new signing Leandro Trossard will be available for his debut against Manchester United on Sunday.
Arsenal can go 11 points clear of United with a win, which would require Erik ten Hag’s side to climb a mountain to catch them.
The Arsenal boss spoke just hours after the Gunners confirmed Trossard’s signing from Brighton on Friday afternoon.

The Arsenal manager praised Trossard’s versatility and said the club had followed him for a while
Asked if the Belgian will play against United, he said: “He trained today so he’s ready to go.”
Under Premier League rules, Trossard’s registration must be completed by 12pm on Friday afternoon to be eligible for a debut.
When asked if this had happened, Arteta said he believed all relevant paperwork had been settled in a timely manner to ensure Trossard could perform.
Speaking of Trossard’s signing, he said: “We’re really happy to have him. He’s a player we’ve been following for a while.
“The opportunity came and we needed a front-line player who was versatile. I think it can have an immediate impact.’
Arteta also said the club need to think about the future role Trossard can play at Arsenal.
“We had to think in the short term, but also in the medium and long term. He gives it all. He’s a very intelligent player if you look at what he’s achieved over the last few years. He’s a player who will definitely fit our style of play,” he added.

Mikel Arteta has been keen to bolster his attacking options as the Gunners have been seeking a first Premier League title since 2004, and Belgium international Trossard fits into the picture.
Brighton will receive a guaranteed amount of around £20m, with the remaining £7m made up of achievable incentives – and the Gunners have handed Trossard the No 19 shirt previously worn by Nicolas Pepe.
However, Arteta refused to elaborate further on Arsenal’s links with Polish defender Jakub Kiwior.

“We cannot talk about players that we have not yet completed. If that’s the case, we can announce it,” he added.
Arteta took time to praise the impact of his own players, including Martin Odegaard, and when asked about fresh injuries he added: “Not that I know of. touch wood.”
Arsenal will be without long-term absentee Gabriel Jesus, who is recovering from knee surgery, while Mohamed Elneny, Cedric Soares and Reiss Nelson are also absent.
Eddie Nketiah has filled the No9 gap for Arteta so far but with Trossard able to play that role, the Belgian could be thrown right in.
