A battered Mitsubishi Lancer, missing the bonnet and a door, has been confiscated after its owner was caught driving the rusted and graffiti-covered car on public roads
The 18-year-old owner, who bought the car for just $100, was pulled over by traffic police on Guildford Road in Bayswater, northeast of Perth, on Tuesday.
Pictures taken by Western Australia Police show that one of the green sedan’s rear doors and its bonnet were missing, as well as the rear bumper and number plate.
Every panel of the car was damaged, and it had rusty windshield wipers, bald tires and a missing driver’s side door handle.
The front and rear windows sported graffiti with some spray work including the tags “Cop Hunta” and “F**Cops”.
