Mother accidentally films herself trying to record her son proposing to his girlfriend in a romantic moment in Rome

An unhappy mother appeared horrified when she made a mistake while filming her son’s marriage proposal – and accidentally turned the camera on herself.

In one Video The man’s fiancée, Jennifer, shared it on TikTok. The couple poses before this special moment in Italy.

The couple can be seen holding hands standing in front of a fountain in St. Peter’s Square as Frank Ocean’s song “Pink + White” plays over the footage.

There is currently a viral trend on TikTok where couples stand in different places around the world, hold hands and then edit the clips together.

At the start of the clip, it looks like the couple is about to do just that.

Then, as the couple begins to hold hands, the man gets down on one knee and prepares to ask for his partner’s hand.

But at this crucial moment, the camera turns around and instead of capturing the marriage proposal, the man’s mother simply films her own face.

The woman who cried with emotion at the marriage proposal seems to realize what she has done and appears worried about her mistake.

Written over the footage is: “POV your.” [boyfriend] gives his mother the phone to record the marriage proposal…’

And bride-to-be Jennifer doesn’t seem too worried about the turn of events, captioning the clip: “She did her best!!”

The video, which has a whopping 8 million views, received more than 4,000 comments, with people’s reactions mixed – some were sympathetic to the mother’s technical difficulties, others were upset by her mistake.

The man's mother (pictured) unfortunately suffered a technical glitch which meant she filmed her own face instead of proposing - but luckily the moment was captured on someone else's phone, meaning all was well in the end

One wrote: “MOMMMM why are they always touching the screen just holding the phone.”

Another agreed, adding: “She just had to hold the PHONE.”

Similarly, another said, “This is why I yell at my mom not to touch her!!!” Lol.’

Another wrote: “You just had to hold it.”

Another TikTok user agreed: “Mom didn’t understand the task lol.”

And another commenter said: “I would be so angry you wouldn’t understand.”

However, others were more compassionate and regretted the mother’s mistake.

One wrote: “Everyone says they are angry. I feel so sorry for her, you could tell she was distressed when she realized it was showing on her face.”

Another agreed, adding: “I feel so sorry for her. Oh my God, I’m really sad, you can tell she doesn’t mean to.”

And another TikTok user felt the same way, writing: “Oh no she looked like she was about to cry. Tell her it’s okay.”

Another agreed, adding: “You can see the moment her soul left her body! Poor thing.”

“Oh, her face at the end breaks my heart.” “You can tell she really felt terrible about it,” said another sympathetic viewer.

Another agreed, chiming in: “Why are you mad about this?” She’s so sweet. “The couple will tell the story in a few years and hopefully laugh.”

In the end everything was fine because the moment was captured on camera by someone else and Jennifer also shared the video of the marriage proposal on TikTok.
