Movie World: Visitors are stuck on a ride after the park was forced to close a number of attractions

Several people have become stuck on a Movie World Ride just hours after the theme park was forced to close a number of attractions due to an “error”.

Passengers aboard the West Falls ride were trapped in carriages Thursday afternoon after being stopped in the middle of their tracks.

It comes after the Gold Coast amusement park was forced to close its Green Latern and Doomsday attraction on Wednesday morning to allow engineers to carry out maintenance.

“The safety of our guests is our top priority and we have a dedicated team of engineers conducting rigorous and comprehensive inspections on all attractions each day prior to opening,” said a spokesman for Village Roadshow Theme Parks.

“During the technical inspections at Movie World (Wednesday) morning, our team discovered a flaw on the Green Lantern and Doomsday rides that required further discussions with the international ride manufacturers.”

The problems caused the two affected rides to close on Wednesday, although they were expected to reopen later in the week.

The theme park also noted that there were minor delays in the opening of the Superman Escape and Scooby-Doo roller coasters on Wednesday.
