My hair was ruined by the bleach which burned my scalp, ears and neck – the salon still charged me £120

One woman took to TikTok to speak out about how a barber burned her hair with bleach, causing burns on her skin, and still charged her £120 for the treatment.

Chelsy Ann from Kent shared a video about it social media platform — who has racked up more than two million views — on how an unnamed hairstylist ruined her hair.

She went to a different hairdresser from her usual salon as it wasn’t available, but soon regretted her decision.

Captioning the clip, Chelsy Ann wrote: “How the barbers completely destroyed my hair, burned my scalp, ears and neck and still charged me £120.”

“When I aggressively ran bleach through my hair, it was all over my ears and (my) throat and started burning and they didn’t care.”

“Bleached three times, I was given a stick to make my scalp itchy, which then made it worse.”

“My hair fell out while washing and it was still red.

“I was complaining that my bangs didn’t look like the picture at all and he aggressively clipped even more hair into it.”

“I spent years trying to get my hair back to health so he could destroy it in a matter of hours.”

“Not to mention my ears and neck were burned and the bleach burned through to my roots exposing them (the black dots).”

The images show the hair Chelsy Ann wanted versus what she got, as well as a gradual process of destroying her hair.

She also shared pictures of her red ears where the bleach had burned her skin.

When she says her curls started falling out, the hair wasn’t even blonde, but had a hint of ginger.

In another video, Chelsy Ann responded to a comment saying the black dots were normal.

She said: “I just wanted to respond to this comment because there is a lot of discussion about the black dots on my scalp.”

“I sent a photo to my barber, my usual barber, the same day it happened, and that was her response.”

“When I sent it to her, I said, ‘Are there supposed to be black dots all over my scalp?’

“And she said, ‘Oh, no way! God Chelsy, your condition just got better.”

“That’s where the follicles opened.” That’s your root.

The messaging also shows Chelsy saying, “They won’t give me my money back either.”

She continued, “This lady has been doing my hair since I was nine, so I trust what she says.”

“If she says it’s not good, I just go along with it because I don’t know anything about hair.”

“But I’ve also bleached my hair a few times and it’s never happened.”

“The bleach was all over my scalp, and even if just the tip of my hair was darker than the black dots you said, that’s not the case.”

“Because my entire head has been bleached, there is no dark root.”

“These are the roots that should be under my scalp and so if I pull my hair they would just fall out because they are no longer buried in the skin.”

Shocked users took advantage of the original video’s comments to comment on their thoughts.

One wrote: “Oh my god this is so awful being a stylist I’m so sorry this happened to you!!!!”
