A “phenomenal” and “brilliant” new thriller has landed on Netflix that will make viewers think about the dangers of social media.
“Accused” is about a young man, played by Chaneil Kular, who is mistakenly identified on social media as a wanted terrorist who detonated a bomb on a London subway.
When the witch hunt for online threats leads to a home invasion, he is forced to fight for his life.
The film seemingly went unnoticed on the streaming platform, despite scoring an impressive and rare 100 percent rating on the popular review site Rotten tomatoes.
However, film fans are starting to realize how “excellent” the film is and are taking to social media to spread the word.

One user wrote: “Accused on Netflix is just awesome, the reality of society.”
“The power of social media, hate, racism and stereotypes can destroy lives simply because today everyone believes they have a right and are entitled to it.”
Another said Accused on Netflix is actually 10/10, tense but so gripping and the reality is so important.
“It just goes to show that social media can be a pretty damn scary place. “Definitely worth a look.”
Someone else said they were “still anxious” after watching it, adding: “If anyone’s looking for something good to watch, I just watched Accused on Netflix.”
“Absolutely brilliantly played. I’m still worried now. Really shows how dangerous social media can be.”
The exciting and gripping thriller was directed by Philip Barantini, best known for his one-shot feature film “Boiling Point” starring Stephen Graham.
Fans will recognize Accused star Chaneil Kular from the Netflix series Sex Education, where he plays high school student Anwar Bakshi, after making his debut as Tariq Amiri in the BBC series Doctors.

The actor tweeted the trailer when the film was released on September 21, writing: “Accused now on @NetflixUK!!”

A day later, he posted an update that the film had landed at number one of the top ten films on Netflix that day.
Fans responded: “You were brilliant,” “absolutely stunning,” and “outstanding performance.”
Others added: “Fantastic performance – robust and robust watch but I would highly recommend” and “It was absolutely amazing.” Awful. I hope you receive awards for this.
