NFL Awards: Patrick Mahomes, Jalen Hurts, Josh Allen, Joe Burrow and Justin Jefferson for MVP

NFL Awards Season: Patrick Mahomes, Jalen Hurts, Josh Allen, Joe Burrow and Justin Jefferson are named AP MVP finalists while Brian Daboll, Doug Pederson and Kyle Shanahan qualify for top coaching honors
The NFL Awards season is back, with several new names qualifying for the Associated Press’ top honors, including Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts and Minnesota Vikings receiver Justin Jefferson.
Hurts, Jefferson and Patrick Mahomes are finalists for the AP 2022 NFL Most Valuable Player and Offensive Player of the Year Awards. Bills quarterback Josh Allen and Bengals QB Joe Burrow are also finalists for MVP.
Brian Daboll, Doug Pederson and Kyle Shanahan are the finalists for the AP Coach of the Year award. Daboll led the New York Giants to a 9-7-1 record in his first season as head coach. Pederson led the Jacksonville Jaguars to a 9-8 record and an AFC South title in his freshman year with the team. Shanahan led the San Francisco 49ers to a 13-4 mark, including 5-0 on the stretch with rookie quarterback Brock Purdy on the third row.

Notably absent was Philadelphia Eagles coach Nick Sirianni, who led his team to a 14-3 record and first place in the NFC. Meanwhile, Eagles linebacker Haason Reddick was passed over for Defensive Player of the Year, while defensive end Brandon Graham was snubbed for Comeback Player of the Year.
Of course, the Eagles fans were unhappy.
“It’s insane how disrespectful the Eagles continue to be,” wrote one fan on Twitter.
“Brandon Graham tears hamstring, comes back and grabs career high sacks on a 14-3 team,” wrote another fan.
‘Haason Reddick 17.5 sacks & an absolute POWER. Not a DPOY finalist.
“Sirianni wins the most regular season games in franchise history. Not a COTY finalist.
“That’s ridiculous.”
Winners will be announced at the NFL Honors on February 9th. A nationwide panel of 50 members of the media who regularly cover the league completed the voting before the start of the playoffs.
