NFL trade deadline: Giants star Saquon Barkley “sparks interest,” DeAndre Hopkins is cautious about a potential deal and the Broncos have a “good offer” for wide receiver Jerry Jeudy

The NFL trade deadline is fast approaching, but there’s still time for some important deals to be made before Tuesday’s 4 p.m. deadline.

In fact, several blockbuster deals have already been made, including the Giants’ transfer of Leonard Williams to the Seahawks.

New York is also reportedly showing interest in franchise running back Saquon Barkley, although general manager Joe Schoen appears unwilling to part ways with the face of the team with two months left in the season.

But even if the Giants resist the urge to sign Barkley, other names could be in the mix, including star receiver Jerry Jeudy of the Denver Broncos and possibly quarterback Jameis Winston of the New Orleans Saints.

Here are a few names to keep an eye on as NFL offices rush to finalize a deal.

Saquon Barkley is drawing interest

After the Giants’ heartbreaking 13-10 loss to the Jets on Sunday, which dropped them to a 2-6 record, teams are reportedly inquiring about two-time Pro Bowler Barkley.

But according to CBS Sports’ Josina AndersonInterested parties are told he is “not going anywhere.”

Giants coach Brian Daboll also told Barkley that a trade before the deadline “didn’t happen.” ESPN’s Jordan Raanan.

Barkley, 26, didn’t get the long-term extension he was hoping for in the offseason, as he ended up returning to the Giants on a contract worth up to $11 million and additional incentives.

He missed three games earlier this season with a sprained ankle.

Broncos have a “good offer” for Jerry Jeudy

At 3-5 — but last in the AFC West — the Broncos could be another seller at the deadline.

And according to Mike Florio of ProFootballTalkThey have a “good offer” on the table for Jerry Jeudy, with the site reporting late last week that Denver is “believed to be willing to move any of their players.”

According to this report, Jeudy suited up for the Broncos against the Chiefs and scored his first touchdown of the season in a 24-9 win.

Still, the 2020 first-round pick has only surpassed 65 yards rushing once this season and the Broncos could look to cut ties with the former Alabama star.

Florio reported that the Broncos were not thrilled with the offer they received for Jeudy. Let’s see if that changes by Tuesday afternoon.

Jets look for help on the offensive line – without success

The Jets have seen two more offensive linemen sidelined with injuries and are looking to address dwindling strength at the position.

Centers Connor McGovern and Wes Schweitzer are both on the injured reserve list, coach Robert Saleh said Monday, while Duane Brown Jr. is also injured and Alijah Vera-Tucker will miss the rest of the season with a torn Achilles tendon.

However, Saleh said that “no one in the league trades offensive players.”

DeAndre Hopkins is cautious about the future of the Titans

DeAndre Hopkins posted his best game of the season on Sunday, but it’s possible he played his last game for Tennessee.

When asked Friday about trade rumors involving him, he remained cautious.

“I do my job when my number is called,” he said in a video recorded by ESPN’s Turron Davenport. “And I’m a Tennessee Titan.”

The Athletics Dianna Russini had previously reported that teams were calling the Titans about Hopkins but that he would not be moved unless an “exceptional” offer was presented.

Hopkins has a contract until 2024.

The Vikings could look to replace Kirk Cousins

The Vikings lost starting quarterback Kirk Cousins to a torn Achilles tendon on Sunday.

But at 4-4 – and with the league’s best receiver in Justin Jefferson – Minnesota could look to retool its team in hopes of making the postseason.

Jameis Winston, currently Derek Carr’s replacement in New Orleans, has had success as a starter in the past, while Jacoby Brissett and Ryan Tannehill could also be options (especially after Will Levis’ dream debut for the latter).

Unless the Vikings trade for a quarterback, their current backup is fifth-round rookie Jaren Hall.
