Nigel Farage has launched his own ‘patriotic’ brand of gin which he claims has ‘the taste of Brexit’.
The former Brexit Party leader, who is known for his drinks, has unveiled a range of red, white and blue gins made by a Cornish distillery.
The gins are made using local spring water – the red is flavored with British cherries, the blue is flavored with gardenia blossoms and the white gin has a classic dry style.
Mr Farage, 58, said he would send a gift-wrapped bottle to longtime opponent Jean-Claude Juncker, former European Commission President and even former US President Donald Trump if he were a drinker.
He added that he hoped both Brexiteers and Remainers would buy the gin, ironically or not.
Introducing his new brand, Mr Farage said: “Jean-Claude Juncker was a pleasant person, although he did not agree with my position.
“He deserves a bottle and one is on its way to Luxembourg. I can’t really say [European Parliament Brexit negotiator] Guy Verhofstadt, so he won’t get one. And Donald Trump is teetotal.
Nigel Farage, 58, has launched his new gin range and promises shoppers “a taste of Brexit”.
Mr Farage claimed his gins were “quality over quantity” when he launched his new brand
“I hope when people give this to Brexiteers it brings a big smile and when given to Remainers well I hope it makes the family laugh.”
The gin is made at an unnamed artisanal distillery in Cornwall. Mr Farage said he launched the new range with the small business after meeting the family who run it.
He said: “A few years ago I happened to meet a retired couple who decided to make gin in their garage. I’ve looked at the process they use and it’s all hand made, hand bottled, hand labeled and hand packed.
“It’s a really great cottage industry. We are on the verge of our fourth prime minister in six years and there is clearly much more to do. You may not have gotten the Brexit you voted for yet, but this stuff really is the taste of it.
Mr Farage added: “I was a Eurosceptic drinking gin in the 1980s when people said ‘Nigel, you’re so old-fashioned’.
“At home I drink gin and tonic straight. And with that range, you can really experiment. The colors are so amazing and vibrant and making cocktails is a joy.”
Gin brand Farage is the latest of his ventures since retiring from politics in 2021, which includes his primetime talk show on GB News
Known for enjoying a drink, The Brexiteer offers a range of red, white and blue gins
The former Reform Party leader said he would send long-time adversary Jean-Claude Juncker a bottle of his gin
The 70cl bottles are priced at £40 each and have a strength of 42% ABV. sold.
The gin range is Mr Farage’s latest venture since he left politics in 2021 after achieving his lifetime goal of seeing Britain leave the EU in 2020.
Since stepping down as leader of the Reform Party (formerly Brexit), he has hosted a prime-time program on GB News and offered an online financial advice programme.
Mr Farage’s range of red, white and blue gins isn’t the first drink to play up the strength of Brexit – in 2017 a former UKIP candidate launched vodka brand Brexitovka.
The 40% British vodka, which is no longer on the market, had the tagline: “Celebrate independence or drown your sorrows in style with genuine Brexit vodka.
“A premium vodka carefully crafted by real Brexiteers to piss off 48.1 per cent of your friends.”
