Josh Bowler will become Nottingham Forest’s 20th signing this summer after the club agreed a deal with Blackpool to sign the winger for around £2million.

He impressed for Blackpool last year after signing in the summer, scoring eight goals and adding three assists.

Bowler has continued his fine form this season, scoring twice in seven games for Michael Appleton’s side.

The £2m addition takes Forest’s summer spending past £145m as Cooper’s side continue to attract attention with their stunning summer transfer spree.

Bowler was signed by Everton as a hot prospect in 2017 after making his debut for QPR at the end of last season.

The winger made 41 appearances in four seasons for the club’s development team before spending the 2019-20 season on loan at Hull City.

He played 31 times for the Tigers but struggled to earn a spot, making just 14 of those starts.

Having arrived at Bloomfield Road after leaving Goodison Park last summer, he was one of the Championship’s brightest talents in 2021-22.

Both Nottingham Forest and Bournemouth tried to sign the winger in January but failed to match the Seasider’s price tag.

Forest have had a mixed start to the season and are currently 15th but have had difficult games against Man City, Tottenham and West Ham.

Next up are Forest Bournemouth in one of Saturday’s kick-offs at 15:00.
