Ohio daughter, 22, says ex who was shot by her dad “changed” when he returned from California

A woman whose father shot her ex-boyfriend as he tried to barge into her home has revealed he “changed” when he moved back from California and she was forced to “everything” with him during the split to block”.

Allyson’s ex-boyfriend James Rayl, 22, was shot three times by Michell Duckro, 52, after he showed up unannounced at her Ohio home on July 31.

Rayl had previously dated Duckro’s 22-year-old daughter, but the couple split a year and a half before the tragic incident.

New footage from DailyMail.com shows Allyson recalling the horrifying shooting as she spoke about what happened just before her father shot the ex-boyfriend.

When James persisted and tried to force entry by breaking down the door, she claims she ran away and hid before hearing the shattering shot.

Allyson also explained that she and James broke up in 2019 because he was “just ad ***” and she was forced to ban him from her social media as a result.

She told the policeman, “I don’t know how he broke the glass of the door, but he broke the glass. The door frame fell off. He started to get in.

“And then I freaked out and ran and hid because I didn’t know what to do.

“I didn’t even see when he shot or anything, I just heard it. I literally hid myself most of the time. I screamed a bunch, and then I really started freaking out.’

She added: “I thought that was always very nice. He was okay in high school, but after he came back from California, he was just different. His close friends or whatever he just started treating like c*** and no one wanted to deal with it.

Rayl left his ex-girlfriend a voicemail the night before the shooting, saying he wanted to see how she was doing.

Camera footage from Chilling Ring captured the moment Duckro fired through the front door of his property on North Kuther Road, killing the unarmed Rayl.

He told police he shot the man three times through the window portion of the door after telling James to get off his porch.

In the clip, Rayl can be seen attempting to force his way onto the property while Duckro says, “James no, get off my porch” and then “I have a gun” before shooting him.

He then staggers away from the door before collapsing in the property’s driveway, with only his feet visible on camera.

Neighbors are also seen running away after hearing “four or five” gunshots but leaving Rayl on the ground dying for at least seven minutes before police arrived.

Jeffery Hereford can be seen walking across the lawn in front of the Duckro saying “don’t shoot me” and “he doesn’t have a gun”.

Duckro’s wife Stacie, 51, recalled the ordeal and broke down in tears as she told detectives James took no notice as he stood on their porch. She said her daughter was “terrified”.

He then said “he’s dead, he was shot” and “he’s not moving” before he and two others discussed him for seven minutes while Rayl lay dying.

Stacie told neighbors they had already called emergency services and were initially told not to go near him as they thought he had a gun.

Then they can be heard screaming, “He tried to get to our daughter” and “He tried to break in”.

Hereford then asked, “Did you shoot him?” before yelling “yes!” back. at him, and he replied ‘he’s not moving, he’s not going anywhere’.

Two other neighbors can also be seen standing around waiting for the police.

They said “he’s barely breathing, he’s having a hard time breathing” and “I don’t see any blood” before going to Rayl’s body and adding “he’s dead”.

The Duckro’s $436,000 property in Ohio has also been put up for sale since the incident.
