Orchard Hills Public School: A rapidly spreading grass fire forces hundreds of children to evacuate from the school in western Sydney

Hundreds of children have been evacuated from a Sydney primary school after a fast-spreading grass fire threatened to engulf their school.

According to the rural fire department, a large fire broke out in Orchard Hills, about a kilometer from Orchard Public School, at 1:45 p.m. and burned west toward the elementary school.

Around 200 students from the school were reportedly taken to nearby Kingswood High School and parents were told to pick them up.

There’s more to come.
