Overwatch 2 Season 3 release date: When is it?

A new year ushers in a fresh batch of Overwatch 2 content. Season 2 of the game is still ongoing, but the first major update of 2023 starting with Season 3 will bring expected changes to the game. This may include new heroes, maps, and balance changes. Here’s what we know about the Overwatch 2 Season 3 release date.

Overwatch 2 Season 2 began on December 6th and brought with it a ton of game changes and new content. Players could earn seasonal skins during the Winter Wonderland event, and on January 5, the Battle for Olympus event began, which features Greek mythology skins and a limited-time deathmatch mode that changes the way some heroes play and gives them power legendary Skills.

Perhaps the most anticipated content additions arriving with new competitive seasons are new heroes and maps that drastically change the gameplay landscape. Season 2 brought Ramattra, a new tank hero, as well as the Shambali Monastary Escort map.

No Overwatch 2 Season 3 release date has been officially announced, but based on previous release patterns, Season 3 will likely arrive on Tuesday February 7th. Since Season 2 came out in the first week of December and Overwatch seasons typically last around nine weeks, the next season should be ready in early February.
