Pele’s mother does not know that her son, the world famous football legend, has died, his sister betrayed.
Celeste, who has just turned 100 and is being cared for by daughter Maria Lucia do Nascimento, was not informed of her son’s death.
It emerged overnight that Pele’s only surviving sister has yet to tell the matriarch that her famous footballer son lost his battle with colon cancer.
Her home is said to be on the route planned by the funeral organizers before the football star is buried in the world’s highest cemetery.

Maria said in an interview in her homeland: “We talk, but she doesn’t know the situation. She is in her own world.”
Referring to the three-time world champion, nicknamed Dico, from his family childhood, she added, “She opens her eyes when I mention his name and say, ‘We’re going to pray for him,’ but she’s not really aware , what I say.’
Pele died on December 28 at the Albert Einstein Hospital in Sao Paolo at the age of 82 from multiple organ failure linked to his long battle with colon cancer.
His mother celebrated her 100th birthday last month and her son captured the special moment on Instagram.

He wrote alongside a photo of him with his arms around his loved one: “Today we celebrate 100 years of Celeste’s life. From a young age she taught me the value of love and peace.
“I have well over a hundred reasons to be thankful that I’m her son.
“I share these photos with you to celebrate this day with great emotion. Thanks for every day by your side Mom.”
Pele is to be buried in a 14-story cemetery in central Santos, where he played most of his club football on Tuesday after three days of official mourning.
His body will be transported from the hospital where he died to the Vila Belmiro Stadium in Santos, where the public can pay their last respects.
It will remain on the center circle for 24 hours, according to local media, before being paraded through the streets of his hometown to stop just outside his bedridden mother’s home.
He is then taken to his final resting place at the Memorial Necropole Ecumenica, which earned the Guinness World Records title for the tallest cemetery in the world.
