Perth Boat Disaster: One person killed and another treated in hospital after Mandurah crash

Boatie is killed and another fights for his life in hospital after two ships collide while a major search is launched for others on board

A missing person is being searched for after a boating accident in south Perth leaves one dead and another struggling in hospital.

Police were called to an area near Pinjarra Road and Soldiers Cove Terrace in Mandurah just after 10pm on Saturday to report that a boat had collided with another vessel.

One person died at the scene while the second was taken to Royal Perth Hospital in critical condition.

On Saturday night, Duty Inspector Vic Hussey said police were searching the water for others who may be missing.

“We are currently searching the waters for potentially at least one person who may be missing from a vessel that was involved in a collision,” he said.

“Unfortunately, one person died in this collision.
