People expressed shock at the difference between people aged 45 in the 1990s compared to today after a California filmmaker tweeted a photo of the film Father of the Bride 2 wearing ill-fitting suits and pearl necklaces.
Starring Diane Keaton and Steve Martin as the parents of a 22-year-old Annie who gets married and has a baby, the film franchise features the actors playing people in their mid-40s.
Jessica Ellis, who started the conversation, noted that the characters in the sequel, in which Annie (Kimberley Williams-Paisley) is having a baby at the same time as her mother, Nina (Keaton), were 45 years old.

Another recalled, “My parents gave me a real pearl necklace in high school because they thought I would dress like this one day?”
While many people saw the funny side of a 45-year-old’s changing face, some were worried the same could happen to them.
