A friend of Theberge’s in Manchester, who spoke to DailyMail.com, told DailyMail.com the ex-convict had been living in a tent for the last few years before Alexandra’s bomb arrest last week.

“I’ve known him for years,” said the source, who spoke on condition of anonymity.

“I see him from time to time. I think the last time I saw George was five or six months ago.

“He doesn’t have a house, he’s been living in tents for years,” he said.

Several homeless camps were located in the woods where the couple had lived, including one that was liquidated by police last year and known as “The Bucket”. Theberge is one of several displaced squatters.

At the time, Theberge gave a quote to the local news outlet, describing his disdain for the city’s decision to disband the camp – while expressing his and others’ fondness for outdoor living over a shelter.

“Some people don’t want to be inside,” Theberge told NPHR in June 2021. “If they want to come to a camp like this or a church, [the city] could give us that option. Don’t make us go to an animal shelter.’

TheBerge had previously stayed at 472 Granite St, property records show – a drug den that went under police radar in 2017 as a suspected crack house.

On July 28, 2017, at approximately 5:50 a.m., a SWAT team raided the site early in the morning and arrested Theberge and three others.

Police officers discovered a litany of drugs, cash and other illegal paraphernalia – although Theberge was arrested on a warrant from another police department.

Records show Theberge had several other altercations with the city police and was arrested at least nine times for offenses including stalking, assault and possession of weapons.

A woman who is friends with Theberge on Facebook told it DailyMail.com that the career criminal frequently sent her messages on social media that exuded a “scary” vibe.

However, Theberge was not arrested on Monday after police responded to a call from his girlfriend, who reported she was giving birth just before 1 a.m. in woods near the West Side Arena ice hockey rink – not far from the evacuated camp.
