Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Grafaiai explained

The Pokémon Company unveiled Grafaiai as the latest addition to Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, set to launch on November 18, has introduced 13 new Pokemon so far.

Grafaiai was first leaked a few days ago when the Pokémon Company shared images of the artistic trail that Toxic Monkey Pokémon had left on Twitter.

With the video posted by Nintendo on Saturday 3rd September we can finally put all the clues together.

Located in a forest in the Paldean region, Grafaiai was designed to resemble a graffiti artist. The monkey sports a hooded look, a tuft of hair, and black and white striped hind legs. To complete the look, the long, thin fingers appear to be dripping with paint.

Grafaiai is a poison/normal type that “uses its poisonous saliva” to attack its enemies. Its color lures its bug-like foes with a sweet scent and paralyzes them when touched. Grafaiai is expected to have the Unburden or Poison Touch ability, which accordingly either doubles the Speed stat when his held item is used, or poisons an opponent when he makes contact

Grafaiai’s evolution hasn’t been revealed yet, but it has a unique property that allows it to change color depending on what it eats. Its presence is indicated by Bug-type Pokémon roaming nearby
