Police search for missing woman, 26, who disappeared on way home from work, finds body in woods – kidnapping suspect found dead in jail cell
Police are looking for a woman who went missing on her way home from work and have found a body in the woods.
Gabriella Kosilko, 26, was last seen in a shop on Fosse Road North, Leicester, shopping for groceries at 11.30pm on August 31.
She was reported missing the next day after failing to return home from her night shift.
Officials announced today that they have found remains and believe they are their own, although formal identification has not yet been completed.
A man arrested on suspicion of kidnapping and murdering Ms Kosilko was also found dead in his prison cell, police said. It is believed that the two knew each other.
A mandatory referral was made to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC), which has launched an independent investigation. The police will be fully cooperating with this investigation.

Detective Chief Inspector Mark Sinski of the East Midlands Special Operations Unit’s Murder Investigation Team said: “Our investigation into the circumstances surrounding Gabriela’s death is ongoing and anyone who may have information is asked to contact us.”
“If you were driving down Newtown Linford Lane at around 2.20pm on Friday (September 1) please check your dash cam footage and contact us if you have filmed a red Audi A1 parked on the curb or anyone seen driving or sitting in the vehicle.
“If you were in the Ratby Lane area on Friday afternoon, please contact us if you saw the vehicle or anything else that struck you as unusual or a cause for concern.”
“We would also like to reassure the local community affected by the events of the past few days that officers will remain in the area while further investigations are conducted.”
